Hey guys,
I know it's not a turbo A series but hopefully some of you will like my project car. Me and my mate James are about 11 months into the FWD R1 mini project with a few months to go before we get her lit. It's coming to life a bit now so if anyone is interested, please check out my website and photos to see the latest state of the build.

I hope she's got knickers on or you'll have a funny runny mark on your bonnet. Quite like what a snail leaves behind.

I don't think the photos show things in their best light - must try harder.

The car on the other hand is fantastic - excellent work!!

Ah,,, first drives should always be almost naked yeah??? *smiley*

trying to find a smaller front Colin , (er , ah, i mean--> Sproket) seems harder to find than i first thought, might have to get one made

also i still have locking rear brakes, might have to block them off *smiley* there`s just not enough weight in the back for the damn thing to grab the ground

still have some Bump steer issues too,,, i did some calcs & some drawings to have it sorted when we built the frame, but must have stuffed up somewhere along the way *frown*

never fear, i`ll race it like it is for the next couple of meetings & then rip the rack out & sort it a bit better in a month or 2.

How`s your`s comming along? any more pics???

we love pics *smiley*

ill get ben to log on and update

hes recently got all the wiring and colant plumbing done and dusted, if i remember correctly (been in tenerife for 2 weeks) all he needs to do is whip the engine back out to fit the sump baffle plate, give the frame a lick of paint, and it should be a runner?

Hey guys,

It's 2 years and counting now on my R1 mini project, and today I finally managed to get her running! Recently, the cooling system design was finished and then the mammoth task of wiring it all up correctly. There was a couple of initial problems, one where the ECU data wires were incorrectly spliced into the R1 clocks sub loom, and this was flashing up error codes. Another look at the wiring diagram, and we had that sussed. The project is about 90% complete now, with lot's of tedious little jobs to finish and I need to sort the brake pedal box out and plumb the brakes in. Getting her to run is a big relief though, and a massive boost to the motivation, here's a little clip of the moment of truth....
