Any of you folks got Raynaud's? affects my fingers and toes mainly hands can heat up and stay warm after i get the blood flowing but feet stay cold forever. i got medicine for it a few years ago but it made me feel sick so stopped taking it, have tried gloves and thermal socks but only seems to delay the process. any tips for keeping your hands/feet warm and still be able to work in the garage. my garage has no power which equals no heating! ive got a similar problem with my knob, the doctor says i need to use it more but the wife's having none of it,lol |

I use a propane heater in the garage - mines a space heater so does need mains to power the fan which physically blows the heat out, but you can get upright ones which work like a normal gas fire which are pretty efficient.

All the above, but do try to keep your feet off bare concrete.I use old carpet and/or duckboards. The problem is worst, as you know, when you are not moving about enough to keep the blood flowing,so keep those feet and legs moving, even if you are standing at the bench. |

Pop down to your local machine mart or screwfix and have a look at what they've got. My space heater was £100 and then I just buy calorgas bottles from the local autofactors for it - they last a good while as well and I get the garage nice and toasty. i had thought of a gas heater but i've no got a concrete garage its a wooden one with stones on the floor, plus my garage isn't at the house just not too keen on the gas bottles being up there
going to try some heat pads and ive already got a good hat sorted. also found some silk glove liners i'm going to order. got sealskin socks too. guess some nice wooly boots would be a good idea. ill put some things to the test while im out kiting on sunday :) |
