hi could someone tell me what makes a car a coldass when first started i have to start mine and let it warm up for a few minutes otherwise its a spluttery dog there not like that when new and was wondering if there was any parts i could buy to cure problem or is it just the fact its a 25 year old worn engine its a first time starter and excellent runner any help much appreciated and can i wish everyone a merry xmas

Perhaps a good service & setup might cure it.

what year is the car?

is it any better/worse with the choke on?

hi my car is an f reg mini with a b reg metro turbo engine car starts fine with a little choke on the morning car is running brilliant its just when its cold its very spluttery when driven until it warms up i need to leave it for a few minutes ticking over ive had fuel mixture set up by my local mot garage

forgot to mention car has had good service only thing not renewed was plugleads

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

my guess its set up for MOT emissions they will have made it mega lean.

richen it up halfe a turn by screwing the mixture screw in, see how you go from there ?

of course make sure the engine parts plugs lead etc .... are not clapped out as the guys state above.

you may be used to a modern engine with auto choke, a short cold snap under 10deg C highlights this problem with the choke both my cars are the same
