Brett I thought you had bought a TIG recently? Why have you gobbed the manifold up with MIG?

Haha I did buy one, I managed to stick some aluminium together with it :)
not too good on stainless :(
I do have enough bends and straight for another though if I get brave enough

Stainless is easier than ally to be honest with you. You need to fabricate carefully as TIG won't fill big holes. But you can make a very neat job that more importantly has good heat penetration through the joint which in turn hopefully means it won't have more crack than a New York whore. Case in point is Mikes sidemount manifold that I TIG'd up that didn't crack despite some long straight lengths in it.

agree i build mine (not ran yet) out of mild steel and gas less mig did the best i could nice 45 degree champhers and tight fitting joints welded and ground it back smooth but haveing done it that way ive decided if this one works well for a while but craps out ill re do it in stainless and perge tig weld it as ill be getting the CIG weld tig when im back from working away

point is do what you can i guess and if the idea works well then do it propa!

this is the stuff i used, provided by Allstainless flange from fleabay
looking back i guess i should have stopped at the point i got it tacked up, and switched to the tig, i spent 6-7 hours cutting and mocking up to then spend the next 2 hours doing shit welds with a now broken mig, internally it is now quite nice i think im just going to exhaust wrap it and see how it goes
worst case scenario it owes me like 110 quid no doubt i can make that back on fleabay and build another with the tig

I would avoid tacking with a mig then welding with tig, you'd be better off tacking with the tig as mig welds are horrible to weld over with a tig.

You're probably finding it easier to tig ally as its very difficult to overheat ally, but very easy to overheat stainless. And I find stainless more sensitive to the amount of shielding gas used compared to ally. The Amps to weld stainless compared to ally are less than half in general.

i think i just need more time, once i have decent place to weld on i will be using the tig much more
i didnt find welding ally too challenging tbh i wouldnt call what i did welding to be honest though much like soldering with a blow torch rather than a soldering iron
ill get there

how could it not ??

end of the day its a pressure difference that is needed

it may not flow well so will probably limit hp but it will deffontaly still create boost!
