Well this is going to be the second coming of my mini. Its been of the road for a few weeks and thanks to me getting carried away with the minispares discount period i have a few bits to get started with the conversion.

Here are some photos of before and its current state.

Hope you like! *happy*

Dan.

Cheers! Well i have a metro turbo engine. But have an MG metro cam to hand and plan on getting a worked cylinder head suitable for upping the boost.

I dont want to get to carried away to start with, but i'm adding things in preparation for getting the boost bug!

I thought i would give a bit of an update, its not much due to excessive crimbo and new year drinking!
So basically the front sub frame has been painted and the mini made into a reliant robin *happy*......makes moving it in and out of the garage with no front sub frame a lot easier!
Oh and i built up my straight cut gear set too.

Enjoy!

Well no photos to show, but i went to visit steve aka Benross today! All i can say is what a top bloke he is...had a bit of a laugh *happy*.
So while he does some engine work, i'd better get cracking with putting the rest of it back together! *hehe!*

So. In between blowing the head gasket on my mums car on the way up north i'v been tinkering and have been stripping the turbo lump ready for some changes to the spec.

The rough spec will be:
1:3 rockers
Fully worked head 35.7in 29.5ex
Standard Metty Turbo pistons (1275cc)
Balanced standard metty turbo crank
N/A MG Metro cam
Garrett T3
Biggest intercooler i can fit
Megajolt Ignition
Suitable Pre-verto clutch set up and lightened flywheel.
Minispares sc/cr gear set
Minispares sc drops 1:1
Minispares x-pin diff

Thats all i can think of at the mo. Here are a few pics (including messy garage)

Enjoy.

So it's been a little while since i've updated this. A bit has happened as the pictures will show. The main thing thats changed is the engine spec......Due to a few phone calls with BENROSS i ended up going for a short engine including a Phase 2 cam and other bits!
The engine is back, and all i can say is the attention to detail and all round good quality of Steve's work is extremely impressive and i can't recommend him enough! He can't do enough to help!

Here are some pictures.
Bulkhead box

New fuel lines

Subframe

Head

Cast Omegas

I will get a few more of the engine soon!
Enjoy
Dan.

Not really an update, due to a string of mates birthdays. And inevitable hangovers preventing progress!!

But i wanted opinions on a set of wheels i've got kicking around.

What do you think? Stick with the wellers, or go with the cooper reverse rims

i personnaly prefer the wellers, but its whatever you're happy with mate, why not run both, have a show set and a track set or something..

So it's getting closer to being finished! It's amazing how long the seemingly little jobs take!! Its ready for the engine to be dropped in and i've bled the brakes too *smiley*

Been doing some fabrication too....all be it very basic. But none the less it's very satisfying!

Anyway here's some pictures.

Radiator Brackets (Home Brew)

Fuel Filter Bracket (Home Brew)

Brake bias set-up.

Bonnet pins

Boot set-up

Progress is going to be slow for a bit as i'm off to Budapest for 7 days at the end of the month, and catching the Grand Prix while i'm out there! *happy*

Enjoy!!

Your car is russet brown on the inside. You must paint the outside to match immediately! *smiley*
