Do you really need a washer in between the body and the rubber on either side?

i dont think i need the washer above the body. there lowerd shockers and if i just bounce the rear of the car you cn feel/hear it so there not bottoming out. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I have had similar knocking and it turned out to be the lower mounts that had loose nuts so - are the bottom bushes OK too? |

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
