It will be better no to insure, tax or mot your car and get a fine, cheaper in the long. Though I appreciate the other side |

Around 2 million motorists are estimated to drive around uninsured (6.5% of all motorists in the UK), and these drivers are said to add approximately £30 per year to all of our insurance premiums.

Though I appreciate the other side phil is correct though, as bad as it is people wont insure because they dont want to pay £1200 for a 106 or somthing stupid like that, i find it difficult to understand why its so high, i pay pritty much £600 for a years insurance on a 1.1 106. if i had a motor bike it would be half that even if it was the same price. The government should use the same scheme as Germany where the plate is registered to the house not the person I believe each year you pay to retain the licence plate that covers your insurance and road tax If you fail to pay your plate gets taken away from you.

Correct me if Iam wrong. I think you've got it right there. I believe Belgium operate a siilar system. It is a great idea because if it was combined with something like ANPR it's so easy to track the scum and make them accountable. On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

What I can't understand is what do you insure it for? I.E Third party just incase someone walks into it on your driveway? Or if in your garage, stops a burglar taking you to court because he cut his leg on your rear bumper?

Its about time the firty lowlife corrupt fuckers in government in conjunction with these rip off insurance companies sorted the problem out once and for all. And creating stupid laws to criminalise motorists is not the way to do it. Plain and simple 3rd party blanked cover on the cost of fuel is a total no brainer. Why dont they get their act together and sort that !!!! A parked car poses no danger to anyone, so should never require insurance. 9.85 @ 145mph

Australia used to have a good tax idea, dunno if it still applys but their road tax costs alot BUT it used to include 3rd party insurance as standard.
