If it's any use to you Gaz, VW camper fuel tank senders are vertical tubes, I'll grab some pictures of the spare up the garden if it's of any use to you? |

I asked the same question awhile back, this post maybe of some use. I haven't heard anything bad about getting the tank foam filled to be honest.

the foam can brake down after a few years and give problems. I have seen this myself, I did not foam fill my tank, but it has an internal swirl pot Team www.sheepspeed.com Racing
