How come some setups use ECU's and some dont?

may seem stupid, but is it something as simple as a carb engine and injection engine?

Basically it was used by rover to limit boost at low RPM's, where huge torque is created that puts a strain on gearboxes.

In short, make sure your gearbox is in good nick, which it needs to be regardless. And fit a bleed valve or stronger actuater instead of the ECU.

The search function on this web site is quite good (better than some other forums) so have a read of some older posts if you want to learn more.

Where in Wales are you from?

I'm in Cardiff.
Jimster is in brigend and a few others on here are from wales as well.

If your looking for parts, giz a shout.

Back to your question, the only other part you don't need is the solinoid that the ECU controls inorder to bleed air.
