Hi i did a search and couldnt really find what i was looking for, heres my problem:

My crankcase breather has been cut,so basically its just a piece of pipe with a filter on the end, i dont have a breather on my timing cover which i think is the problem, any way today i took the mini out for a burn and when i got back i noticed that my filter had oil in, not much but it was their. So is there to much compression in the crankcase? and could this be caused from not having a breather on the timing cover?

is this the one above the flywheel?

if so the transfer gears can throw a lot of oil about and it can come out of the breather, what i would do is weld two large pipes into the rocker cover, run the breather from the flywheel into the rocker cover and run the other to a filter/ catch tank, that way any oil thrown up will get caught in the rocker cover.

Hi,
That can part that was cut off contains a mesh that usually catches the oil. Go with the advice above.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
