Well the Mini is nearly road worthy and running (sort of) so thought I'd get a quote to get her insured so I take it for the dreaded MOT.

Rang Adrian Flux this morning and was quoted.........

£144 including Personal & Legal Insurance.

The joys of been 35

I use miniworld insurance. £94.00 Fully comp agreed value, salvage retention and track day cover.

Car spec. Approx. 1310 Supercharged, cage, metro brakes adjustable suspension et all the usual bits and bobs alloys etc. Have been with them for 3 years. I have limited mileage though of 2000 a year which suits me as its a weekend toy

mini world / herts insurance is actually the same company as adrian flux but a whole lot better to deal with and do the little extras such as trackday cover and agreed value i am with herts and on my policy i got those without extra charge,
450quid
fully comp, agreed value, trackday, my dad on the insurance (lorry driver actually increased the cost lol) 1100 clybby with 'standard' 1275 mg engine and stage 1, ice(ish), alloys+arches
EDIT, im 21 with 2 previous non fault accidents and 3y ncb but not applied to the policy

I am currently paying €800 a year with "friend of staff" discount on a 998 with no mods. I asked for a quote on the turbo, all mods declared and they just refused *oh well*

Im paying €645 with a mk1 no mods 998. 3 of the big companys refused point blank to insure me because the car was older than 20 years and Im under 25 so not eligable for clasic insurance. what a load of monkey poo

I know from my in-laws (60 miles north of Dublin) that insurance over there is outrageous compared to mainland UK.

But your "MOT" system is even more strange.....

Sorry, O/T.

This is the car

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=9373

Engine is 1293 Turbo, morspeed Turbo Head, lightened flywheel, diched14cc dished pistons, Megajolt.

Agreed valuation, trackday cover, and 5k a year.

Plus I have 3 points.

I was just pleased that it wasn't something stupid, but then I only pay £300 of my 2006 Audi A4.

The Boom Boom speaker Police!

Essex

Fully comp, Insured for 140bhp, all mods declared. I'm 29, car is garaged overnight, 3k miles a year, European breakdown cover included.

£185

Just ensure that your car can be insured under the classic policy. My girlfriends standard mini 35 is £300 for me to insure as it is a '94.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Not to my knowledge - completely separate competing companies as far as I'm aware. They are however both brokers and use a lot of the same insurance companies.

herts would not even quote me on my mini because i had a policy running with adrian flux on the supra, the guy i spoke to with herts was able to pull up my details from the supra insurance i had to wait for my policy on the supra to end incase i wanted to renew lol i had sold the supra by this time (another bad part with adrian f, i had about 6 weeks left to run on the supra policy and it would cost me more to cancel it as i was all payed up)

All insurance policies go on the Motor Insurance Database so any insurance company can pull up your details.

As for not quoting you, thats strange as I've had 2 policies with the same company before (both with Privilege) and a 3rd with HIC.
