Hi chaps.

I've got front mounted rad. So i need to plumb in a header tank. now i know the bottom pipe on the header should run in to the bottom hose but what do i connect to the pipe at the top of the tank? Also on the opposite side to the in and out on the rad is a small out put what would i connect that to??

Thanks
Alex.

what header tank? metro?

IIRC there a 3 conections on the metty one...

the bottom hose, return from the heater, and a small air bleed from the stat housing.

Hi,
I'd say connect the small rad pipe to the small tank pipe :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

if it dosent have the small breather the n personally i'd put it in the heater take off at no 4 and run it back into the bottom hose,

that way it will tend to collect any air in the system.

I've got a similar tank to that and will be using a metro cooling system.

The bottom outlet on the tank goes to the bottom hose. The midle outlet goes to a breather on the thermostat housing that I sent you. The top one on the tank is the blow of and just vents to air though a length of pipe the same as the standard mini radiator.

I have loads of metro bottom hoses with the second pipe to the tank if you need one....

EDIT: the metro hoses have a 16mm internal diameter, that tank has 13mm. might clamp down a bit, but you might need to get reducing pipes...

This is my tank:

Has the correct pipes for metro hoses and is very good quality

The little one at the top??

It's the same as the mini rad, it's half way up a sprung cap, so when the preasure gets up it can bleed some out.
