i've got some roller rockers from my old 1.1 engine, does anyone know how to find out what ratio they are? i've attached a pic if it helps.

measure from the centre of the pivot point to the centre of the roller and from the centre of the pivot point to the centre of the 'ball' that sits in the pushrod

ive heard that people have managed to do it.. but when i tried... i ended up replacing the gasket an hour after starting it

They look like Minisport 1.5's . At least they look identical to the one's I had.

cheers guys, measured 2.2 one side and 3.3 the other. looks like its a 1.5.

I,ve ALWAYS got away with it.I drain the water,ease the pressure on all the head bolts and then replace the rockers,re -torquing afterwards.Mind you, I have yet to try it on a turbocharged engine !. |

it is technicaly possible, but its going to be incredibly difficult to remove all the old gasket from the head and block.

as others have said, i have changed the rockers and not the gasket but did drain the water and slacken all the head nut slightly, worked fine.

as others have said, i have changed the rockers and not the gasket but did drain the water and slacken all the head nut slightly, worked fine. also when changing the gasket i undo the manifolds from the head and leave them in place, then remove the head studs and pull the head forward and off. when refitting i have 2 very short studs i screw in place, slip the gasket over, slide the head back, put all but 2 studs back and then remove the short studs with a screw driver (i cut slots in the short studs) and pull them out with a magnet on a stick.
