Hi,

While installing my megajolt I had to disconnect a couple of the alarm imobliser cables and have now put them back on, unfrotunately when i connect some up they do not work any more.

It is when i connect the immoiliser cable, (pair) to the brown/red wire which runs from the 12v live side of the starter solenoid to the ignition relay on the front of the bulk head.

The other pair is attached to the feed from the fuse box live to the 12v live on the edis module, (this previously went to the coil)

When the second pair is attched on their own it works fine, but when i attach the first pair as well the alarm throws a wobbly and wont do anything, no flashing led or arm disarm etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

I have attached the instruction manual with wiring diragram.

Bat is your man for this one, but, I dont think the brown red is right at all. The reason there is a relay between the starter switch and the starter solenoid, is because the solenoid draws a fair bit of current. The imoboliser circuit should not be between the relay and the solenoid! (brown/red) but between the relay and the starter switch (white/red)

I have one of these alarms to fit and I have researched it a fair amount. The starter circuit deffo doesnt sound right.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Hi,
The crank immoblise wire should be on the white/red to the starter relay as the alarm is only rated 18Amps, the solenoid will pull 50A one first stage. You may have toasted the immobilser stage in the alarm :(

Hi

Thanks for the replies - if i had toasted the immobiliser stage what would the sysptoms be.

I have now changed it and connected the second pair to the red/white wire on the relay and all seems ok now, alarm works fine.

If it was broken, surely this would no longer work?

Thanks

Jon

Hi,
Not as such. They don't use relays any more for the immob. It's some strange setup, so they may shut down if overloaded.
Can't say for sure as I've only ever fitted them before the starter relay.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
