Just recently read that altitude has a significant effect in pushing spool RPM upward. I'm at 5000-feet, and have not taken the car down to low altitude to compare. Right now I'm getting 5psi boost @ about 2800RPM - I think it is better in colder, denser air, will have to carefully test that. About 70F (20C) today.

Have any of you noticed a difference with altitude?

Hi
Don't think we've got much in the way of altitude in the UK?
Cheers

No one takes their car to the continent to run on the autobahn?

Matt and Steve should definitely go to Bavaria and take some video of pushing Audis, Mercedes, and BMWs out of the left lane.

When I was in Germany it was interesting that I saw almost no Porsches. We seem to have many more in the US than in Germany.

The turbo is affected by air density, and spools up to higher speeds at altitude.Years ago we used them for altitude compensation on diesel engines in Mexico.Unfortunately over a certain altitude, the turbo went over design speed and exploded!

'Where does the engine go?'

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Loads more of balding men with midlife crises in the US you know.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
