hi, my mini has coilovers on, and i want to put a rear beam on it.
can i use my subframe to make a beam up? can i just cut the back off and make it strong again?
or is it better to make one from sratch? has anyone made there own?

after much thought i ended up making a new subframe, i used 60x40 box section and used my mini spares camber brackets for the ends.

That looks a good job, but it will need more mounting points to the body near the inner radius arm brackets

thanks for the coments, i will look at putting some more mounting points on, thats fine, but why dont ones you can buy have more on? or is it that they need them on too? its made from steel, from a fabricators skip, i ask them and they let my have it for nowt!!!

You might have an issue with clearance between your beam and the rear seat base panel, have you had it mounted?

tryed it on, the only thing i might need to do is shape it abit around the fuel pipes. it clears the floor ok, the mounting points on the beam sit back 10mm from the box section.
