These were my thoughts when driving to college this morning, when the back end of the van went skitz on the dual carigeway!!!!

Dragged to the left on the back end, and felt abit sideways.

Somethings not right here!!! Managed to keep it on the road and luckily there wasnt that many other cars near me.

Thats when my TYRE over took me!!!! That'll be the problem then!




Not a fun experience. But what was probably worse was trying to jack the thing up on the shitty jack that GM supply!

I think the tyre must have picked up a puncture without me noticing because of how hard the sidewalls are (50 profiles). then with it running on the walls slighlty it just wore through them VERY fast! it was fine when i drove to the gym last night so it could only have happened from that journey.

you can see where the side walls have been worn away and then the rest of the tyre has just come free.

Lucky you weren't trying to break the land speed record at the time eh!

was driving in my volvo once n heared a very slight unusual rumble...pulled over on the motorway and had gash's all the way round but no where as bad as that!

I saw a HGV with a blowout on the M1 this evening. He jumped sideways accross two lanes, the hatchings and the end of an exit slip road. Glad I was a way behind him...

in my experience its more controllable when a front goes, as the car doesnt try to swap ends.

Is it a run flat? My run flats are hard as you say and you can't feel a puncture other than you notice a slight pull to one side. I did a few trips on a flat, so did my sister in her car and she nearly had the problem you had with the sidewalls breaking down.

Not a run flat. It was clearly, running on its side walls from the wear that on the tyre, or what ive got left of it! but i guess because they were low profile there was little give in them so hard to notice.

That coupled with the fact that it was early in the morning, and i had music on.

To be honest i think if i was more of a morning person and was more aware when i wake up, i probably would have noticed something abit earlier.

live and learn. i got lucky. i'll definately be more aware in the future.
