"Metro 1275 Turbo Engine

1990 1275 metro turbo engine in very good condition. This engine was originally from a 1990 metro turbo, then in a rear wheel drive car. I bought the engine to put in my mini now selling due to vtec conversion. When i bought the engine i was assured it was running fine. The engine comes as pictures show. The engine code is 12hd26101391. Any Questions just ask.

Happy Bidding"

The Penis clearly forgot to mention it has been fitted with a Marina or similar crankshsft and listed as a Metro turbo engine hoping no one will notice..

at 150 quid you still get some useful parts. Provided it was done properly I wouldn't mind it sitting in my '60 Austin Healey Sprite tho:)

Are longitudinal blocks the same as transverse blocks?

Hi,
Looks very much like 'a pile of worn out parts I've bolted together and given a lick of the "wrong" coloured paint!'
Had it have been painted red, it would already have been sold by now!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

No, they're different castings. IIRC you can convert a North/South A series to transverse but not viceversa

It's even got an in-line sump on it but I would never have spotted without the warning - there's even a convenient rag where the diff would be that looks as if it's been dropped on top of the diff that isn't there......

You CAN convert either way, we have covered this before.Whether its worth it is an entirely different matter. Both myself and a friend, running turbo 1275 A35,s have done it,he more successfully than I,as I have reverted to a Midget block and crank due to rear main sealing problems. That engine is available for the brave or foolhardy!.
