Personally I would have spent the dosh on an adjustable bias valve for the rear brakes and junked that compensator. Too late now though.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

unfortunately my lack of knowledge told me this was the only way to sort my diagonal system out

e.g change to a front rear split with the expensive pressure valve thing.. *frown*

Vegard - i remember you saying it belonged in the bin when i asked if i needed one.. but assumed you were talking about the second hand one on offer..

oh well - will have to run with it now and see how i get on *oh well*

How are you using that to make a diagonal system?

im not, changed the set up to a front rear split.

miniminor63 - you mount it on the bulk head, not the boot floor.

That makes more sense. There seemes to be some confusion here.

There are three types of limiter valve.

1) Fits on the bulkhead and cannot be modified to make it adjustable
2) Fits on the bulkhead and can be modified to be adjustable
3) fits on the rear subframe (used in early single line systems) and can be modified to be adjustable.

Just don't ask me the differance between to two types that fit on the bulkhead.

I'm pretty sure this type can be adjusted, as the adjustment gubbins is whats hidden under the crimped on cap on the left hand side.

That valve is also a safety valve so if you loose all pressure on either the front or the rear, it closes off that circuit preventing you from pumping out all the brake fluid.

that thing on the bulkhead (called a P.D.W.A. - pressure differential warning activator) is there purely to maintain line pressure in one half of the system (be it front/rear or diagonal split) in case of failure in the other. It DOES NOT regulate the line pressure when braking with the system working normally as many believe. Some of the regulation is done in the master cylinder, the rest with the wheel cylinders. Calver's words not mine.

I drill holes in everything..!

No, i think you will find that it does regulate the rear brak pressure *wink*

going off topic but mark has got his answer...
mine broke when my mot tester pressed the brake too hard trying to get it to pass. lol we had to bypass it with brake line to get home and was advised not to brake too hard... or half way round a corner even a little bit. lol unless in a wet car park. haha. wich i never did.... *wink*

if i was to run a fig 8 front brake lines as era, to use a type 4 master would it be ok to run a split in from the rear of the master down to the rear , and then fit balis adjuster in for rear ..
or should i use the regulating valve and put the split for the front in after the master and the rear line after the regulating valve ?

Don't go slow !!! Go Turbo :))))))
