Whats the common practice to mount the crutch strap or 5th/6th mounting point? Straight to the floor with a spreader plate or to the seat mounting rails?

Pics would be handy.

Hi,
Floor with spreader plates would be best. Attached to the seat will be trying to pull the seat off the floor, not what you want.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

i think there are a few images on here about suitable angles for safe fixing, imo if you have a roll cage get a harness bar :)

The main shoulder and lap straps already bolt into the cage, just the other one i wasnt sure about.

Does it want to go vertically through the seat to the floor or at an angle towards the back of the seat?

Hi,
Straight down as it's there to prevent the harness working upwards, not to hold your nuts in place!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Is this really true? I agree on the concept, but I was under the impression that they were to be mounted further back.

I thought they prevented "submarining" or whatever they call it.

That's a five point, which noone should use.

Crutch strap should mount backwards from the seat aperture. The lap straps hold you down, the crutch works with the shoulders to hold you back.
