Stoke-on-Trent. Duck.

Hi all,

I've been a good lad and done a search already to see if I can find an answer but no joy, so here goes.

I need to rebuild the brakes and this will include a new bias valve rather than the awful lump of iron I did have mounted to the inner wing . Applying a bit of common sense and engineering, if I didn't put a bias valve in (OK, that bit wouldn't be using common sense!), but with no bias valve and using a twin master cylinder set-up() I would get a front/back brake percentage of perhaps 60/40? (Metro turbo vented discs up front, Superfins at the back). The 60/40 numbers are a bit of a guess, but the principle that follows is the same...

With an "infinite" range bias valve I could then achieve anywhere from 60/40 to 100/0?

With this valve () which reduces pressure by a "maximum of 60%", am I right in saying I can then go from 60/40 to 84/16? (i.e. reducing the rear percentage by 60%?)

Which leaves me with 2 questions (assuming my logic is right...)
- Is an adjustment range of 60/40 to 84/16 sufficient? (My Mini's not been on some extreme diet or anything, please assume it's "standard").
- Is the bias valve above suitable? I came across it via another thread () or would people recommend something else? The "lever" types look prettier, but this is brakes we're talking about, so I'm applying function over form for a change!

Many thanks,

Dave.

That is essentially the setup I have. Works fine.

Short answer really.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Nice, I like short answers. Especially those that suggest I've got the right idea!

Cheers Wil, if it's good enough for you it definitely good enough for me. (there's a song there somewhere...)
