Evening all,

I have tried searching but couldn't find anything to answer my question.

It is now the time to work out the calculations for the head cc's, as I'm having a head done from a fellow TM member!

I've tried some of those CR calculators but some figures I wasn't sure about.

Its basically a Morspeed 1293 high compression engine that I'm converting to turbo.

I've bought some pistons from MED that are currently sitting in my bedroom, ready for when the engine is removed. I bought the omega die cast 10cc pistons. Are these alright? I have read good things about them on here so I went for those.

I've also bought a T2, Spi tank, and it will be running the 276 that is already in.

Any thoughts as to compression ratio's and the head cc I will need please?

Thanks
James

What CR you want depends on how much boost you want and what level of off boost performance you want. More boost equals lower CR which intern equals less off boost driveability. As a rule of thumb your looking around 8 or 9.

CR is pretty easy to calculate:

The cast Omegas seem to be regarded as a good piston, so there should be no issue with them. As Rob said compression is mainly down to what boost you're planning on running.
What are you doing regaring ignition and intercooling to ?

I'd like to run as much boost as I can really, but safely, because its a standard crank (if this makes much difference?) It's got straight cut drops and I'll buy an x pin diff. I dont want to buy a straight cut box, so I think that will be the limit? I was thinking of around 12psi??

As to ignition, megajolt when I get round to it. I have a smart car intercooler, but it looks too small and I cant find a descent position to mount it, so I'm still on the hunt for a good intercooler.
