Allo all. Im trying to backwork my bhp now ive taken off my weber and im back on a mechanical fuel pump.

15.4 @ 90mph measured using a vbox racelogic thing on an abandoned air strip.

The mini is 650kg without my lardy arse in it. Probably 740ish with me in it.

Its a 1293 with a 296sp and a 3.77 diff if thats any help.

Thanks

Sam.

Proven 200+bhp & Avon Park 05,06,07 Class D 3rd place

There are so many variables Sam un less you have full traction off the line (we don't) it's not really possible to work out with any accuracy.

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph
First 5 port miniturbo to make over 200 bhp on a carb?
First 5 port miniturbo to make over 200 bhp on Injection?

Trap speed and vehicle weight are the important bits...assuming a sensible run with no cocked up gear changes.

ET doesnt really figure in HP calculators...or at least it shouldnt. Trap speed's do generally be fairly consistent for a given power level though ( unless gearing is particularly bad )

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Sorry im being dopie i forgot your working with 750kg as your weight.

It did a 14.6 with a terminal of 96 mph at Santa pod. With 118bhp so a power to weight ratio of roughtly 180bhp per tonne.

So take the power to weight and divide it by the terminal time gave me 1.88541666666666.

So

power = ((terminal / 1.88541666666666) / 1000) x weight)

For a 100mph terminal time I’ve put in a 8 percent correction. To take into account of air resistance.

Power = ((terminal / (1.88541666666666 x 1.08)) / 1000) x weight).

So for my car to run 100mph terminal it would need 132bhp. If you look at other fwd cars running that time it’s about 14 seconds over the 1/4. With a power to weight ratio of 203bhp/tonne. I worked out 203.625. So not too far off the mark.
