i have found an engine with the engine number 12HC53 108323 its not a mini or a metro but a Meastro van its still an A or A+ block from what i can see. was wondering if anyone can find or knows info on this engine :)

I asked the same question about meastro blocks. Apparently they need some metal removing from the clutch end of the block and from the 3rd end cap. Possibly some differences with the crank. I'm trying to get hold of one to pull apart and experiment with. If I do I'll take some side by side pics with a mini/metro A+ On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
