In recent years i've only used brands I've heard of!

slightly ot - got dunlops on the A4 - wear well. If it wasn't for damage from pot holes, punctures etc, I get about a year out of a set which is around 25k miles

got michelins on the wifes TT - expensive and not getting much life out of them. the last front tyres got about 12k miles out of them and the backs have a little more left

If you can still get them in your size try Kumho (or something like that)

they used to be a mid range tyre, but personally i thought they were the best tyre i ever owned.

They have since rebranded themselfs as a more 'sporty' tyre i think

Somewhere around Swindon

i only use dunlops michelin or good year on my daily driver, i made the mistake of putting "budget" tyres on the 406 and in the dry it was ok the wet however it was shocking, never again!

I've got the latest Falkens on my Focus - Brilliant.

Nearly as good as the Contis.

same as wolfie, once bitten twice shy.

rain + leaves from the trees + 4 budgets = a new underpants moment!

they were changed the next day for those stated above. Now rinning conti's on the front kuhmo on the back, seams to be working well

I'm with Wolfie, anything from Goodyear Michelin or Dunlop will be OK in my experience. I've got a pair of Goodyears and a pair of Michies on my Audi.

A bit OT but I run the factory Michelins pilot exaltos on the Clio, great tyres for grip vs tyre life but the road noise is hideous! Seriously, you can barely have a conversation in the car at motorway speads. Looking at the tread pattern there is a band around the tyre that isn't really round, more like a 50p piece only with more sides. Strange for a decent brand of tyre on a modern car. *oh well*

This is FORD country, on a quiet day you can hear Vauxhalls rusting.

Hi,
Tyres are the only thing in contact with the road, spend money hear rather than new underwear! *surprised*

My work car got fitted with some shite tyres and I couldn't wear the buggers out! lol The slightest hint of rain and I had no grip. Ive now got firestone on there and they are really good in comparison.

I can't believe they are allowed to sell those cheap tyres...IMO they are damn right dangerous!

ditch finders are best to be avoided and when you look at the overall price there isn't much in it over a year of motoring.

dunlop have always been middle of the road for me on any type of car. conti contacts wicked grip on 2 cars I have owned.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

i had some Dunlop ditch finders, fittd as standard, under steered really bad in the wet at say 30mph round a corner, changed to conti and can do 60mph round the same corner.

on my old 306 rally i tried pirreli, goodyear, yokohama, conti and found conti as best in the wet. (all were sets of 4)

lupo gti i tried Dunlop, conti, toyo proxi, and back to conti

I've got an A4 TDi 130. I had Pirelli P6000 on them. 25k and both ends where done. No grip in the wet and not the best handling tyres I've had.

I now have verdsteins (advert had a car doing handbrakes on the roof of a tower block). 25k in, 5mm left on the back 4mm on the front. Loads of grip, and plenty in the wet/snow. When they do let go, the slide is very predictable and controlable. Bloody good tyres at the same money as the pirellis.
