would it be an idea to kill ignition and fuel supply with the inertia switch, worst case is massive lean out and melted piston from starvation?

if you crash, last thing you'll be worrying saboult is melted pistons,

its just to stop fuel pissig over te engine

cheers shane / Gavin

the one i have is as per Gavin's diagram

however..

i crank, pump comes on

car fires up pump goes off.. pressure gauge shows oil pressure.

i had a similar issue where 87 and 87a were round the wrong way but this is no longer the case (the pump come on before the crank over)

any ideas?

cheers

I was thinking more track day, clipping the curb at an apex and activating the inertia switch

I'm struggling to work out what Relay 1 does? it seem redundant to me.

relay 1 is a feed from the batery, its switched by the key, it could be runstraight from the key, but in this case the key just provides the curent (20mA) to swith the relay coil, the relay carrys the pumpo current

I don't have relay 1 in my circuit. I just use the oil pressure switch to earth the relay. If there is not enougth residual fuel to fire the engine it only takes a few seconds of cranking for the oil pressure light to go out anyway.
