Can anyone help me with some pics please? My car was fitted with oversills a few years ago but I would like to fit proper sills to it. I am after pics of what I need to build back up when I fit proper sills. I never fitted the oversill so I dont know how bad it is underneath! I presume that the short sills (narrow) weld onto the floor pan at the points where they meet the floor but is the open/vented part of the sill sealed in anyway? I did try a search but couldnt find much. If anyone could point me in the right direction of a build thread that will have this in it that would be great. Is it worth doing with the narrow sills or should I just make sure I get rid of all the rusty metal and fit oversills again

when you chop the outer sill off the inner should look like this, with out the square holes obvioussly lol

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Just re read your question.

Over sills are the Devils sills as they hold moitsutre in and your hardwork is undone in a few years. Always make the effort to remove the old sills, repair where necesary and fit short sills. It will last a lot longer!

I'll second this. Minibitz (I think they were called) in Bolton whacked oversills over my old sills without even attempting to cut out the crap first. Lo and behold everything neeeded re-doing again 2 years later.

no mate its a '74 clubby and still had its original sills fitted. they had a couple of small patches welded on them so i fitted genuine sills.

the original owner had it undersealed in 1976 and i dont tknow what they used but it was very thick, very hard and protected the car very well. the only panels that have been replaced are the sills. there is more pics of it on here somewhere if your interested lol.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
