Righto, i need to get some metal during the week to turret my rear arches.

I was initially thinking of getting so 3" diameter thin(ish) wall tube and making them out of this. I have had a little measure today and im unsure of this will create enough clearance?

Im thinking 4" might be better but it might be overkill?

So the question is, Will 3" tube be ok? What diameter are others using?

Id rather use tube than box it in, i just think it looks nicer.

Cheers, James.

The coils are 2 1/2" wide arent they so you would have 1/4" clearance each side with 3" tube. Remember tube is measured ID pipe is measured OD. I think lol..
Why would 4" be overlkill?

I would personally use the offset coilovers after seeing them and just tag the cage in if your having one?

I think it's the other way round.

I'm just not a fan of the offset mounts...my head doesn't like the idea. And i don't think they do them in the length that i want.

I think i might go with 4" for the extra clearance. I can put up with the extra weight i guess....

depending on your car, you have to remember the rear suspension isnt doing a deal when its all stripped out.

I think protech would do any length of shock needed.

mines got 4'' tube on the rear turrets. I personally think 3'' would be too small.

I also hate the idea of offset mounts. it just seems like a bodge, plus the standard shell just isn't strong enough for coilovers without turretting. I've seen plenty crack when offset coilovers are used on the standard turrets.

Not very sunny swanage

do you still manage to get clearance on the standard fuel tank, or is it only for people with other tanks??

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!
