About to fit aly skins to a set of doors, but the bottoms of my spare set are pretty rotten, and the actual frame needs about 10" repairing in the middle where the drain holes has got blocked and rotten through

Its simple enough bit of angle to fabricate a repair patch, but does nobody make these off the shelf?

Ive looked on the heritage site and m-machine, but no luck, they only seem to sell the outer skins?

Cheers

Joe

Moss have just started to make them,im picking one up during the week - pity ive already done one door myself before they started production!

Its simple enough to do yourself but the moss panel has the corner bits of the lip ad well,i think they are about £11 a side. The mk1/2 ones the do look terrible pressings as they have the full corner as opposed to just the lip but the later ones look fine.

Heres the link - .

Just a word of warning if you do fabricate some bottoms your self, they're not actually a straight edge, they bow out in the middle to follow the sill line.

I just use a bit of the old door skin to make a repair to the bottoms and make up a new flange oooo err.

Ordered both sides and a rather large package arrived the following day

Looking at it, they have sent me a RH repair section, and a rear valance?

Rang back and spoke to a chap called Daniel, good bloke, they are sending out the correct LH section now, and its due to their website having the wrong part number allocated against the LH repair section

So....if anyones interested in these dont order any until tomorrow once the website has been updated

I ordered yesterday and it turned up today, looks like it might need slight adjustment to fit but not too bad.

Il let you know what the fits like over the weekend if I get chance to do it.

Cheers Ross.

did you order off the web? not get a valance instead?

ive fitted the rh one already, had to tack it one end, then twist a midges dick, then tack midway, then twist it back a bit to tack the last corner, as the door is curved in 2 axis' and the pressing is pretty much straight its needed a bit of tweaking, but nothing major

they have posted out another lh one yesterday an sent dhl to collect the valances....groan

As luck would have it i only needed the rh one as i did the other door myself.Id noticed it was straight - obviously easier for them - and would need a slight curve putting into it.

Mine seems to need a little bit taken off the inner edge of the curved section at the back of the door but its only a few mm or so out.

ha, lucky git

ditto, the 'square' end needed trimming back a few mm, but better to have too much that too little
