well got my rad today in the post!

Ive gone a bought one of thoses cheep chinese alloy rads! well, it looks ok, the finish is not as good as radtec or pace, but for Ģ80 posted in a week, its ok.

This is the two core 50mm one with a temp plug in the bottom. if it doesn't keep it cool, i'll sell it for what i paid for it on ebay and get a minispares super two core! One let down is i cant fit my stant cap :( smaller fitting! they didnt state that on ebay, will send them an email, see if they can do one.

I have read a lot of bad things about chinese radiators on this forum. As i have learned it, you can only tranfere so many heat calories per square milimeter. The larger the surface, the more heat calories. I know that there are more to radiators than that, but still it canīt be all that bad. They are not more expensive than a standard radiator and i doubt they are worse than starndard radiators.
I got one and i will try it and let you all know if it is shit. *smiley*

Hi

Completely of the radiator topic i am currently trying to work out the best way to turbo my mini at the moment. Being blessed with the extra space of a clubman i am tempted by the layout used here. Is there any big reason why most people don't normally mount the turbo above the clutch instead of behind the block, i've got to make an exhaust manifold anyway so just trying to weight up me options.

Cheers

The main reason i bought this was price, im trying to keep costs down and this came with what what i needed and worked out cheaper than a mirage. still its not a straight forward fit and im having to worry about radiant heat issues.

I do like the look of remote turbos, but if you want easy fitment go down the mirage or metro road. Then again, if your handy with a welder and got some spair time then go for it. i think theres a few people working on some at the mo, Paul s's looks the bees, and im sure theres a migla one on the go too.

Some people may be worried about "pulse/momentum." but i haven't read up on this so cant comment. hope I haven't kicked that off again *tongue*

Why'd you change the rocker cover? The other was way nicer!

I take it you haven't had to make any mods to your bulkhead? Would it be possible to fit a turbo above the clutch housing in a roundnose?

Great looking build btw!
