The guide is currently with Rod who I think is doing the detailed ecu build sections.

Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

As Paul says, I agreed to do the detail of the ECU build itself. I've done all the pre-amble, ie what all the options are, what you need etc. (Paul has seen that part) and the rest is pretty much me re-writing a series of emails between myself and Graham (part time mechanic on here) when he was building his a few weeks ago. Graham has photo'd his (high z variant) at various stages and I just need to add a couple of photos of my latest one (low z variant).

So the info is mostly all there, just not collated...

Anyway, enough of excuses.... I'll try to finish my bit next week.

But if there is anything particular you want to know before it's finished just PM Paul or myself, between us - and with Jean's help if we're stuck - we should have the answer.....

EDIT - misquoted Graham's user ID

There is nothing else planned at the moment.

I suggest you follow the MS build guides.

To bhpmini

If you are intending to use the add on boards, ie Jean's P&H or 4 channel boards, I have a plan of the main PCB showing all the parts you can leave out.

You would be surprised how many it is.

This is the information I never got around to finish writing up so probably wasn't in the stuff Paul sent you.

It certainly isn't in the official MS build guide - they even tell you to install parts which are only used by the MS1 cpu :)

I don't think you will find this information in any single place, it is dotted around the MS sites and Jeans site. but saves an awful lot of soldering if you are building the PCB(s) yourself.

@ bhpmini, I've emailed you but am waiting for a reply.

@ Mike, I think the fairest answer is that Paul and I have been discussing it, quite literally over the last couple of days, as to how best to take it forward.

Paul has a "cut down" version which he's PM'd to a few people and I've now resurrected writing the detailed assembly bit as I've also had a couple of requests by PM or email. Jean has also looked at some of the stuff I've just done (to give me a sanity check before I proceed with my bit) and made a few suggestions.

I think progress will really depend on interest.
