im guessing your running a grey or orange clutch cover, id oil feed the thrusts as its so simple to do. if your not confident then get force to do it. at my mates mini garage he had 2 minis a month coming in with dead thrusts due to heavy clutches

hi emailed med turns out they dont do forged pistons in 10cc dish +020 so thats interesting, are there any guides as to how to oil feed the thrusts?

Looks like they've changed them - they are listed as a 6.5cc dish on the MED website, but it looks like an offset dish. I'm sure they used to do a 10cc forged piston. On 15th Jul, 2009 fastcarl said:

As far a I know, old Omegas were 10cc. Now you can get a 6.5 offset or not and the 18cc of course. How do I know? I've got them all On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

for the sake of a piston are you happy to risk the whole block?

The piston has overheated to the point that it has expanded and partialy siezed in the bore. This is most likely down to over advanced ignition, and it has not nescisarally suffered detonation. over advanced ignition is basicaly compressing an already hot and expanding gas, and when you compress a gas it heats up. The piston expands more along the pins because there is more metal in that region, so the hotter you get it, the more it expands.

I would agree with Carl, spocket and Matt I have seen the exact same marking on a piston I took from a race engine where trusts had failed. I dressed refitted it and have had no problams to date. On 17th Feb, 2009 Rob H said:
