I cant make out the 4th character of your engine number that well but going off a code list I have saved,12H-D26 was the leaded metro turbo & 12H-FO1 was for both n/a mg metro and turbo unleaded lumps.

Im not clued up enough to remember piston codes of the top of my head but im sure someone will know.

Cheers Ross.

hmm done a bit more digging cant find much out about these pistons. but the block comes back as a standed metro not turbo so unless its been modifid ie these pistons are aftermarket turbo pistons ive been sold a compleate turbo setup with a bog standerd metro engine GREAT

so im gessing this head is bog standerd and not turbo aswell its a 12g940

As long as you were planning a rebuild (most likely needed anyway) it doesnt really matter too much.

Turbo Phil has a section on his site

Also there is one on here covering the same subject as well

Not so judging from the picture it looks like you have got the same size valves as an MG metro head. Looks identical to severval I have.

If you can take out one of each the numbers on the stems should be TAM 1059 and TAM 1061 if they are then the above stands.

The Turbo and Non-turbo Heads all had the casting number 12G940, but this is not their part number! (Why did BL make it so easy!) Nearly every 1275 cylinder head made since 1968 has had this casting number, except for the pollution types with the air injection port in to the exhaust port.

The turbo head will have exhaust valves sized at 1 5/32" (which is same as a stock 1275) however they are sodium cooled. These are quite easily identified as the stems are noticably larger in diameter and use the 3 groove keepers.
