There was a thread a few months back about how someone had done lots of mods to a van/pickup/estate fuel tank for turbo use, i.e different feed and return.

I've been searching all the obvious for 1/2 an hour with no joy.

As I remember, it wasn't actually on a mini, but a Marcos or something.

cheers

Yes that's the info I was after.

The thread Mini13 posted was interesting. Basically the Sprint has a Van tank and I'm debating if using the standard outlet with the pump mounted as low as possible will be ok.

I'm not too worries about surge, more that fact that there will be some 'lift' required by the pump.

I will be using a T-piece for three reasons:

1) It's a simple install
2) It worked perfectly on my mini
3) The outlet of the tank is quite small and I think it has the possibility to restrict fuel flow. the T-piece allows a greater quantity of fuel at the pump inlet. The 'T' will be pre filter

A friend of mine installed a van tank in the back of his saloon (it fits perfectly between the arches).
He turned it round so the outlet was accessible at the back, welded a return onto the top and used the standard outlet plumbed into an electric pump in the boot.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.
