I do not believe that there is a sequential gearbox available that will cope with the torque from a high boost turbo.

I look at the minispeed box last year. I concluded that it was not up to the job.

It's designed for high revving N/A applications.

I might be wrong though.

I don't know much about these, but I am guessing the gearset is the same or similar to a normal gearset, but the selector is modified in some fancy way. Am I close or way off?

Im trying to get my head around it?? Love to take a look at one close up. Surely the gears are similair to the ones we use.

Looks to me like there are no standard synchro hubs and all the gears are a lot closer to the flywheel side of the box.

I seem to remember Harris motorsport was developing a 5 speed sequential box a year or 2 ago. I bet that would cost a bomb though!

The 2.3:1 1st gear will be very difficult to live with unless you use a low ratio diff gear.

If you gear the car to use the power for top speed, then it's going to be like starting off in second.

I was in minispeed last week and i was chatting about the sequential box in the glass stand in the shop and they sad its the only 1 they have and has been to every show for 4 years now! as they cant sell it as the cost of it.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

I believe its the same gearset as MEDs dog box but with the sequential barrel.

Really not worth it IMO or I would have one already

I seriously doubt it!

Hi, ive got a pic of the box taken at the autosport show in 2005 (unfortunatley i cant upload it) ,exhibited by the firm who made it for minispeed The gears are in a different order on the shafts with the barrel mechanism in the space next to the pinion . If someone is willing to post the pic i will send it to them ?

well the gear kit is obviosly different,

I reckon it wouldnt be massivly hard to convert a normal dog box to sequential, a remote box might even be easier.

The gears look in the normal order to me, just looks like a standard MED dog kit
