hi.. i have a mini with mg metro turbo engine in it and i having a problem with the ignition wirng. my problem is on the distributor there is a small control box on one side with 2 male spade connectors, which go to the coil. im not sure which one is positve and which one is negative. (top or bottom). thanks |

Seriously, use the right parts and you don't have a problem, they only go together one way around. If you have a mixture of all the wrong parts, the best bet is module "top" (the one parallel to the module) is coil +ve and battery, (usually a white wire) and module "bottom" (90 degrees to the module) is coil -ve and rev counter (usually a black/white wire). If you have a three pin module it's all different again but, again, the right parts only fit one way. Use my advice at your peril if you don't have the right parts, one wrong connection and the module is toast. :) EDIT - just realised Ben's link is where I posted the same two years ago  I assumed at first, it was just a link to the search button.... I'm getting very cynical in old age
