Went out in the van other night to pick some stuff up and loaded it up to the hilt.

4 gearboxes, short 1275 engine, 2 heads, bags and bags of crap. Basically the back end was down on the deck.

Usually when coming onto boost the van leans out slightly (effin loads) as can be seen on the RR graph. However when it was laden this leaning out didn't happen. I also noticed that the AFR was approx 1-1.5 richer. So instead of running 12.5:1 it was down near 11:1.

It still went well enough with the weight in the back and it did feel like it was running richer and not just a gauge error. Any thoughts what could cause this?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Would the increased load on the engine alter the vacuum charateristics?

BTW - I took my buddy VTEC Pete out for a spin this weekend, and even though I am running her in, he gave it a name, the "Brocket"...cause I'm a brocket maaannn, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah....

bringing it on boost sooner, potentially before the lean spot on the needle?
accelerated (the car) slower so the needle keeps up?

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Fuel lines are outside the car Keane *tongue*

I'm wondering if levelling the dashpot has anything to do with it?
