I received my gt1752 turbo today and I am working out what piping to buy for the induction system.

There is a difference in size between the OD of the gt1752 compressor outlet and the inlet port of my intercooler: The compressor outlet being 52mm O/D and the intercooler inlet being 60mm O/D
Although this is only 8mm difference on O/D, what effect this will have on pressure and flow?

If there is an effect, would I be better having the smaller O/D from the compressor housing outlet, right up to the intercooler, then enlarging it to suit the intercooler inlet, or enlarging the pipe directly after the compressor outlet and having a long larger diameter run through to the intercooler?

thanks

I use one of these:

Reduces any pressure loss to a minimum. A straight taper would be better but will not fit in most instances.

I've used similar (straight reducers, and elbow reducers) but always in the silicone part, not the rigid piping - just because it's easiest.

Sometimes making it all fit sensibly is better than the complex maths like "un plat de rien comme le brouillard" :)

50mm for the main piping with 60mm reducers on the intercooler.

Just because it's so much easier to fit.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
