Not too bothered about the green thing, but turbo's back in f1 can only be a good thing.

Edit: Actually reading further down I'm not so sure now.

Most catagories are going green or more economical. Indycar, F1, BTCC, WTCC, Australian V8 and DTM. Interesting thing with DTM, they are trying to get similiar disciplines in Japan and America to run the new DTM rules so they can interchange.

I don't get the 50% more efficient. 2.4 v8 18,000rpm to small turbo doing 10,000. Got to be doing similiar mpg?????
Nice to have turbo's again...Its a shame Champcars and Indy merged back together...Champcar was much better racing with turbo's and that pass button for extra boost than Indycar.

will be a shame to loose the noise. Kinda agree with Carl.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

Look what happened to KERS the other year!! at the begining of the season, it was THE thing that would make it more exciting, then by mid season, no one was using it.

Also agree with the eco bull shit. How many people know that the petrol and deisle base stocks are actually a by product of the cracking process? Its the small quantities of the other bits that are used for paints, plastics, and every other product that you are unaware that contains oil products.

As the yeild of these products from crude is so small, and the demand high, means that you have to refine more, which means more petrol and deisle. The yeild from a barrel of oil is broken down as Petrol roughly 20%, deisel roughly 10%, Jet A1 roughly 5%, LPG roughly 2%, heavy fuel oil roughly 2% and all 'other' products roughly 8%. the remainder is the bitumous products and all the nasties that we don't really want like HS2.

To get the quantities of the chemicals required for the 'other' products such as polystyrene, polypropylene, ABS plastic and so on, requires more barrels of oil to be refined, which means as a by product, more petrol and deisel.

So tell me this! why does everyone focus on the fact that anything that uses petrol or deisel is BAD!. If we don't use it, what do we do with it?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
