Hi, im new to the turbo scene and was wondering if anyone could tell me a bit more about the turbo that was given to my dad. Its a bit beaten about with a bit cracked where the turbo should meet the exhaust manifold. The numbers i could read from it were:
on the compressor side- A/R .48 and on a small tab- YE1389F, 7700859488, 54087-3 T2. So from that i gather its a T2, but will it be any good for a mini. If theres any more i need to find out shout at me, as i say im pretty new to this.:)
cheers
dan

looking at it, is it worth the work to put it on a mini.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

I agree, probably would work, likely of a 1.9 TD, but the flange is fucked, so it's a door stop at best.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Unfortunately there is vertually no info on T2's apart from a guess based on what it was from,

also with that broken exhaust housing its useless unless you can get another the same.

I googled the numbers but came up with nothing,

you could whip the ends off and measure the compressor and turbine wheels, that could give an idea, also look for an A/R no on the exhaust housing.
