hey guys iv been toying with the idea of turbo charging my mini for a while now, but was put off the idea earlier as i was told the cylinder head i have isnt ideal and that it is lekely the head will crack. As the valve sizes are too big. However i have decided im going to go ahead with it and if i need too will have to buy a new head.
The turbo build has finally started |

Giving a possible engine spec doesn't mean anyone can quote what figures you'll see. How about building and running it, then go from there? On 2nd Nov, 2010 wil_h said:

I didnt want to build it to then have to change it all again. As its more than likely going to be an expensive build. I was mainly thinking about supercharging the engine b4 so wanted to ask soome more turbo related questions. I already have the plans set to lighten the car etc. Just need a decent engine spec. But theere are so many alternatives i just wanted to see what people thought and get some answers on things im not to sure about. The turbo build has finally started |

Have a look at this. http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=348364 Also a 13 second mini is not easy to accomplish. You need more than just bhp/torque. You need to look into traction, weight reduction etc etc. EDIT: Correct thread linked thanks for the link. Very usefull The turbo build has finally started |

thank you for all your help. you have helped alot. thin i am defo going to go turbo now. just got to decide on the cam as i thin im going to go for a turbo from mirage aswell as the manifold kit. will possibly go for the phase 2 cam as you have suggested. the phase 3 looks good tho. but i bet its not really that practical for a road going car. The Scamp has a phase 3 and I wouldn't consider that a balls out racer, however it's very lumpy and takes a little while to kick in.
