my new engines started smoking mainly on idle, 2 of my mates think its stem seal as its fine when im driving.

possibly worn valve guides in the head. WE had that problem with the van, when not on boost the turbo was sucking oil into the exhaust. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

in that case then i rekon it just wants more miles. As the guides havent long been done and i did fit new seals wen the engine was built, just not the best 1s 13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat! |

iv just had too change mine smoked when i set off left a big cloud behind me but was fine whilst driving Done now needs redoing lol |

il run it in to brighton and change them after 13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat! |

so ive took the rocket cover off to find 3 exhaust and 1 inlet seal had pushed up. is there anything i can do to fix this without taking the head off? 13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat! |

You can push em back down with a screw driver. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
