hi guys, i'm thinking of going for a mig style bulkhead, the style where the x-member is extended back and it looks seamless.

i just wanted to know how exactly they're fixed to the x-member? is it butt welded or is there a flange which goes against the back of the x member in the interior?

The ones that I have seen are ally boxes that are riveted and sometimes bonded.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Thanks Chris that looks good. I might have to give these guys with mig shells a pm and see if they would mind getting some better pics.

I can't take any more photos at the moment, but I have this one:

It's all welded steel.

The lower plate is rolled around and welded to the beam at the base of the windscreen. There are two side plates to fill the gaps. Simple.
