How many valve stem seals should they be? I only have 4 on mine is that right? Theyre only on the larger valves, i think they are the inlet ones?

you should only have 4 (one on each inlet) and none on the exhaust

when i had my n/a head done for my 1380 i went for 8 valve stem seals

if your not running thick stems would it be a good idea to fit the seals on the exhaust valves too??

No they don't melt.

Run them on all 8 if you can, just have nothing to lose.

when i had them on all 8 of mine they used to stick on the exhaust valves and ride up and down doing nothing neway. apparently its only the intakes you need them on because the inlet valves suck oil through on vacuum.

but all other cars i know of have them on every valve typical rover i suppose couldnt be arsed to make a bigger holed seal

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

yeah but even if they do go up and down with the valve they'll still stop the oil running down the stem *wink*

stowmaket suffolk

a little bit of oil down the exhaust stem does no harm as it will aid lubrication a bit on a already hot exhaust valve.

ive only ever fitted to the inlets.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas
