Nose bearing (replace the outer race in the transfer case aswell, try not to mix and match):

Idler bearing depends if its a/a+

A series:

A+:

You need 2 of the idler bearings, one for the gearbox side, one for the transfer case. You can get another bearing which lets you use a series gears with a+ casing (IIRC). Going to hazard a guess and say it wont be a 3 syncro box?

theres 3 different bearings, two of them are the same

the two bearings that fit into the bell housing are the same and then you need two different ones.

I bought the following:

1x
http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_ADU7619.html

1x
http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_AAU8424.html

2x
http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/..._TUK100320.html

Thats what I bougth to replace ALL of the bearings related to the drop gears (both the idler and 1st motion shaft gears, as well as the bellhousing casing bearings)

EDIT: Mines A+ If yours isnt you just get the smaller idler gear bearing iirc

All the bearings I got from Minisport were non genuine chinese crap. Now you might say "so What!" but if you take the time to measure the length of the rollers, you will find that they are shorter. Shorter means less load carrying, and an already highly stressed bearing, that is not such a good thing!

There are two types of genuine A+ idler bearings, and the better one is the latest one by Torrington.

There are also two different first motion shaft support bearings, depending on the trasnfer housing. There is the standard A or A+ and then there is the Turbo. There are not many Turbo housings knocking about and the chances are it will be the standard A or A+

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Just destroyed the brand new un opened idler bearing I put to one side from Minisport. Not only does the packaging have the part number for the Torrington bearing, but the outer race running surface has noticable etching in it, meaning it is trash before it's even been anywhere near a gearbox! This is something you would NEVER be able to see before you installed it, without having to destroy the cage.

The rollers running faces themselves are only a little shorter than the Torrington in the region of 0.5mm shorter. BUT, the smaller layshaft bearing (the one at 1st geear end), the cage has a much more 'closed' design (reducing oil flow in nd out?) and the rollers are roughly 1mm shorter. The larger layshaft bearing looks to be identical to a genuine bearing. The third motion shaft double roller bearing has absolutlely no markings on it what so ever, where the genuine bearings are manufactured by RHP. The diff bearings are made in Japan jobbies, But IIRC the first motion shaft bearing was infat a RHP bearing anyway.

The bearings are probibly OK for a moderate engine, but anything with decent torque, I would be skeptical about their abilities.

I posted a topic in the FAQ/ Knowledge section that discusses this, with documentation showing pictures of types of failures.

Hello all I had my bearings turn up during the week and the first motion bearing that goes into the transfer casing is too small. I think I have a genuine turbo transfer casing and the bearing are no longer available right?

What shall I doo?
