Nice work Dave, it looks like you're making good progress. Good to see your back to full health and not wasting a moment of it. :)

Been a bit of a hiccup again since I last posted -fell off another bike, but not too serious, just enough to cripple me for a week or two !!
Van now has working rack and pinion steering.

Thats a Ford Ka link to the cut down mini rack.
Body now close to being ready to spray -just a few little niggles, but wings and doors are now bolted on and wont be coming off again in a hurry.

Thanks lads - I need all the encouragement I can get.

Once the paint is on its all just assembly, albeit with a few more mods along the way.

I,m not looking forward to rebuilding the doors or the wiring. I will have to re-wire it myself as there is no way I can get a loom made, given all the different things I will incorporate (Megajolt, electric fan, push button start, spotlights, fuel pump and inertia switch etc etc etc.

Quite looking forward to doing the trimming though.

As an aside the blue blobule got best modified at the club annual bash over the Bank Holiday weekend, despite asking that it not be judged because it has won twice before!.

Hi David, that looks stunning! We all have our hang-ups,wiring is ok for me but doing bodywork/paint is a big problem.I love that dog leg in the column and the neat entry to the bulkhead.
Now about these bikes, ever thought of getting some stabilizers fitted? *Jester*

Got my "new" seats installed (ex No2 son,s old 212000 mile Xsara)

Needed the height adjustment, as you can see , so that SWMBO can see over the scuttle !

Looking good as ever.

As for the wiring, could you not use a new standard loom as a stepping off point?

£200 for a new loom and then start butchering it ? Not likely, I have mixed Scottish and Yorkshire heritage !!

Now that should prompt some comment.

agreed, £200 is a bit pricey to cut about. Looks like you'll be making one from scratch!

Have to say, I love everything on this apart from the seats... I appreciate comfort, cost etc, however they are just not right in my head

Roof now has its additional three coats and just needs flatting a final polishing.

Also painted lots of other bits - dash rear valance grille
Lots of other bits painted too - dash rear valance, grille etc.
Just another 10/12 hours of blocking down and I can get the last coats on the rest of the vehicle !!

Blobule for Kop Hill - as always.

Van will never be as quick as the saloon as I have to keep it sane for CMC
(current Mrs Clark) to drive.

Looks great. It must be very satisfying to stand back and look at the fully painted vehicle.
