Hi Guys,

Can everybody recommend the Kent MD276 or modern day replacement. I have tried both a MD266 & SW10 (MD286) in my 7 Port, but am after something in between. The 266 seems to flat and the SW10 only pulls from 2.8k. Im after 2000-7000k. Im using 1.5 Rockers, 3.1FD.

Im willing to buy a MD276, but have read mixed reviews.

Thanks Matt

I ran a piper 285 in a 1330cc, i think it was called an ultimate road cam. Might be worth a look into that.

I know a fair few people running 276 cams and they wish they had gone for a bit more.

The 276 is a great cam in a 998, and maybe what you're after for your engine.

Will certinaly perform in the range you want and will work well with the 1.5s.

John K used an RE13 in his 7 port and that made power in the region you want to.

I was going to say RE13,

I assume your on the minisport/ webcon style head? in which case you'll be fighting a bit to get good bottom end due to the port sizes.

what induction are you on, webers?

john K's 7 port plots...

Hi Joe, Webcon head 36x31, ports kept as small as possible, expect throat area. I was running 2 40's, but now got AT Throttle Bodies, & 60mm trumpets.

I've got my Turbo for scary power, am really looking for nice drivability, and long runs ie Iltalian Job etc but not boring

I have a Morspeed phase 3 which is reputed to be an enhanced Kent 276.

I really like the re13 in our 7 port headed motors, I recommend it to everyone it's a very good duel purpose cam, with no real camminess but big urge from 1.5k. These GR designed cams are in a different league to the DV specced cams of the 80's.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

In Australia the T on any GR cam stands for Turbo/forced induction.

the ones from Calver are "peak performance" and "optimum torque"

in addition to this he can get the wide LCA RE13T done, I have one in mine.

I like the RE13T in 5 port efi motors, 85lb/ft under engine dyno load at 1000rpm!!! 97lb/ft peak and 108hp - not a bad combo is it?
