I apoligize if this has been asked before but i have searched for the answer but am still unsure.
I have a metro turbo engine, the pistons fitted are 22357's this number is on the inside skirt of the piston. They are .040 in size, my question is can I still get rings for them, i know minispares sell the C-AJJ3379-40 ones but will these fit the original turbo pistons?

If they're +40's I would of said they aren't original.
Also just email or phone minispares they'll tell you if they can get rings. I tried to get some sorted for a mate, Gavin was very helpful.

thanks for that Wez, what i meant was i don't think these are the Metro turbo mega piston that minispares now sell but orignal rover ones at .040, I know it must of been rebuilt at some point, the engine had been stored for 20 years before i got hold of it, hope that makes sense

I've just looked on minispares and they carry the same number and say made from original tooling, I'd just contact them with your ring sizes.

What's the number on the piston crown?

AE sometimes used one casting for several different pistons, and it is the number on the crown that identifies it while the number cast into the inside of the skirt could be different.

The 22357 number is not normally associated with a standard turbo piston..

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Those are Minispares Mega pistons, you need to speak to Minispares for rings, I doubt the Total seal rings for the 'Metro Turbo' will be the same application

Thanks for that Sprocket, had another look at the inside skirt of the piston and spotted the letters AE on one side and 413P 61966 on the other.

then found this thread with someone that might have the same pistons as me
