Anybody on here got the new KAD quickshift? I have just ordered one as the cheap ones I have just don't work very well, and I got a surprise bonus this months pay. Just wondering if anybody has tried one and have an opinion?

No but opposed to the normal quick shift it is new. Not sure I have ever seen one fitted, most people just have the 'old' type. I have bought one anyway, just wondering if people like them. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

I've had a "new" one since 2006 and it's great :) Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

I have had one for a while, takes a little getting used to, I kept on trying to move the stick too far towards me for 3rd and 4th, but you may have already got used to it with your other quickshift, apart from that it is great, looks good too! |

It does improve shift feel but I find 1st and 3rd are pretty close, when going from 2nd to 3rd it's easy to get 1st by accident but with a bit of practice it's fine. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

I've had one for about 5 years. Nicely made and work well. As an aside the respected engine builder, Bill Richards won't entertain quick shifts as he thinks they wear out the synchros prematurely. Maybe worth considering? |

They allow you to relax. Force it and it won't like it. No need to over stroke it or banging it home. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

I am well used to quick shifts and don't give a dam about the synchros on the race car. I think it will solve my issues with current gear selection though.

I had one and never got on with it. it always felt tight, no matter how much I fettled it.

The quick shift turned up yesterday and I got it all fitted tonight. What a difference, it is amazing, so positive compared to the other type, and putting it in reverse is so much better.

I love this too. Had one on my car since I bought it 7 years ago. Only thing I've had to do in that time is put a bit more of a bend in it to clear the dash. The lift up reverse still works fine and I'd never go back to a normal shifter or early quick shifter. In the 13's at last!.. Just |

), and after a little fettling, works a treat, although, i'm sure I would still notice a difference with the KAD one, but it would probibly be minor in comparison to how the cheapo ones actually come out of the packaging. They just don't work out of the box
