Starting out, here is my shopping list...
Turbo Mini Forums

-Manifold- Exhaust (im honestly doing this on a shoestring budget, mainly due to the fact that there are so few turbo'd minis in Sydney, let alone Australia, if anyone has a good second hand manifold lying around i will pay the right cash for it.)

-Turbo Carb- Im well versed in HS carbies, HIF's are a little different to me, and i will require a decent Turbo HIF carb, again, right product gets the right money

-Intake plenum
-Intake manifold? (ive got a spare mini***** alloy one lying in the garage, will this be suitable?)

Will probably go down the Gt17 path, very easily accessible, and cheap from the US

Any tips, pointers and decent second hand parts are most welcome.

Cheap and plentiful by the looks of, shipping is a bit of a killer, so if you have a contact in the US happy days!

Beware those are not genuine Garrett turbos, they are cheap for a reason.

What are everyones thoughts on the Standard Metro Turbo Exhaust manifold? decent? will it need bulkhead mods to fit a T2?

They are decent a few use them, and yes you will need bulkhead mods

So ive done some searching on here, the standard manifold seems to be ok, but needs a mod plate for the T2 and bulkhead mods

The mirage manifold was made for T2's in mind and dont require bulk mods

What are these elusive Matty Manifolds?

A member on here called matty that makes a couple types of manifolds, he seems to do them in batches have a look in the for sale section

Alright got the manifold and dump pipe sorted from a bloke here in Australia, very similar to the mirage but home made and not so shiney



(unless i opt for ceramic coating)


Not bad for just over 200 pounds...

Still looking for a HIF44 turbo carb, and a T2 (not sure which one...)

Intake manifold... is a metro turbo one needed or can i use an alloy mini**** one?

Is done. Is good. Highflow T2 is being sorted.... will spend the coming weekend/s searching the pick and payless yards for a small suitable intercooler... things are getting there

On the hunt for a HIF44 still, and plenum....
